The Connection Between Fahrenheit 451 and Animal Farm

This is similar to Fahrenheit 451 in the sense that, books are banned from public viewing, and are burnt if seen. I was just going to mention this striking parallel between the two books if you haven’t said it first. I agree with 3most of your points here, and I’d like to add that another main theme that is common in both books is the isolation of people from each other as an act of government brainwashing. In Fahrenheit 451, Mildred is distracted from the company of her husband to watching television all day. This represents the author’s prediction of how technology will eventually dominate us in the future, and this is exactly what the government would want us to do: not thinking too much. In the paleo-futuristic novel 1984, Big Brother’s government takes a step further. There is a way the government detects every thought and action of everybody in the city and those who think differently will be seen as anti-establishment, and will be destroyed. According to the author, this is the ideal society, where people stop thinking too much and conform to the rest of it.

Fahrenheit 451 attacks utopian government and focuses on society's foolishness of always being politically correct.
