Public Diplomacy In Australia History Essay
A conference on “Strategies and Policies of Cooperation in the Black Sea Region" took place on 21 and 22 November in Varna. The Conference was organized by the “Konrad Adenauer" Foundation, Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar", and the Centre for European Research. The lecturers and participants were from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and France. The Diplomatic Institute was represented by Yavor Ivanov, junior expert at Public Affairs and Cooperation Department. The programme of the Conference included topics such as: Current Programme of the EU regarding the Black Sea Region; Network of Non-governmental Organizations in the Black Sea Region; Town-twinning in the Black Sea Region; New Development Period of the EU: 2014 – 2020; Results and Perspectives in the frame of the project “Eastern Policies of the EU", etc.
Public Diplomacy | Beyond Intractability
A debate on the role of francophony took place on 15 November at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was organized by the Diplomatic Institute under the auspices of the International Organization of Francophony (Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, OIF). Ambassadors and diplomats from Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Lebanon, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, France, Czech Republic, as well as representatives of the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria, the French Cultural Institute in Sofia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in various ideas and suggestions for discussions dedicated to the francophone solidarity in the process of European integration, the role of the French language, the universities’ francophone networks, the role of media in the formation of common cultural francophone space. Yani Bogoevski, head of the sector of European Union Negotiations at the European Union Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, was a special guest of the Diplomatic Institute invited to take part in the Conference. At the end of the event the winners in the Essay writing Contest in French on the topic “What is the connection between francophony and European Development Policy" were presented with certificates.
